Russian Customs officers celebrate their professional holiday October, 25.  Also this year Russia Customs Office has its 16^th jubilee and Mordovia Customs Office has its15^th jubilee. RIA info-RM got the information from Inna Tetyushkina, the Office press-secretary.

October, 25 has always been a special day for Customs Office. This day in 1653 Common Customs Regulations were issued by the Tsar Aleksei Mikhailovich who ordered to take custom duty In Moscow and other Russian towns. Since that Customs Office became the state service that served the state economical interests.

Also Inna Tetyushkina said that Mordovia Customs Service first appeared in XVII century. The first customs book in Saransk dated to 1692 said about duty taken from goods at the local market place that was connected with Moscow, Arzamas, Vyazniki, Saratov, Suzdal and other towns. The republic exported ryes, oats, honey, wax, hops, horned cattle, pork, furs, paints, glue, tar, bast and others. Salt, silk, silver and soap were imported.
